Unfiltered: The relentless wave

Ever feel like you're barely keeping your head above water?

Last year, that was me every single day.

2023 wasn't just tough; it was a relentless barrage of challenges for our young, underfunded business.

Hearing about billion-dollar companies folding left me questioning our own survival.

But despite the doubts and fears, we pushed through every single day.

However, with that, burnout became my unwelcome companion.

In the past, I'd spot the signs early and take a break, but last year was different.

There was never a good time to pause.

The business needed constant attention — sales fell, our team shrank, and my personal finances took a hit.

The stress was palpable — when your focus shifts to mere survival, making strategic decisions becomes exponentially harder.

It felt like trying to sprint through quicksand.

The truth is, last year was a struggle, and the battle isn't over yet.

But I've picked up a few strategies that are making the fight a little easier:

  • Focus on what's critical: This year, I'm zeroing in on the priorities that drive our mission forward. Everything else can wait.

  • Rally our community: Your support has been a lifeline. This year, I'm committed to nurturing our community even more — we're stronger together.

  • Find a balanced rhythm: I'm done chasing an impossible pace. This year is about finding a sustainable rhythm that keeps us moving forward without burning out.

  • Transparent communication: No more hiding behind a facade. I'll share our journey as it is — the good, the bad, and the messy.

  • Seeking hands-on deck: I'm looking to bring in someone who can share the load, someone as invested in our mission as I am.

Last year tested me in ways I never imagined, but it also showed me how resilient I can be.

This year won't be easy, but I'm ready for it.

With a clear focus, a strong community, and a bit more balance, I believe we can face whatever comes our way.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Your support, understanding, and shared stories keep me going.

Here's to a year of real, hard-earned progress.
